Second Hackathon Win for Harris in 2016

AUSTIN, TX–(Marketwired – July 12, 2016)

DoubleHorn, a leading cloud services brokerage provider, has announced that the company’s R&D lead Matt Harris won the “Make DevOps Better” DevOpsDays Austin Hackathon in May. Harris built a unified API that alerts all the services by integrating into PagerDuty, Slack, HipChat, VictorOps, OpsGenie, FlowDock and Campfire software applications. Several submissions were received this year from a wide array of in-person and online hackathons of all sizes, including some of the major Fortune 500 companies.

The DevOpsDays Austin 2016 Hackathon Awards celebrate the success, reward the achievement and raise the profile of developers. The event has evolved from the first successful Hackathon Awards five years ago, sponsored by DevOpsDays, which involved only developers. With a larger venue at Darrell K. Royal Stadium on the University of Texas campus, the May event provided local user groups with an opportunity to engage with Austin’s growing tech community.

Harris was chosen by a voting panel consisting of experts in technology. According to the judging criteria, the DevOpsDays Austin 2016 Hackathon Awards are granted in recognition of the significance of DevOps problem addressed and solved with outstanding originality and innovation. Earlier this year, Harris took top honors at the inaugural U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs public-private partnership Hackathon on brain health for his work on a marketplace to connect veterans with the service providers.

Harris’s placement on this list recognizes DoubleHorn’s position as the force that fuels innovation and entrepreneurship in the technology industry. DoubleHorn is empowering many organizations with the knowledge and technology needed to design, compare, implement, monitor and manage the cloud solutions from multiple cloud providers.

“We congratulate Matt for his latest achievement. Our entire team is very proud,” said Tab Schadt, CEO of DoubleHorn. “Our business is focused on improving the world-changing power of clouds, and this award is an example of how cloud services are driving the technology industry to innovate. We look forward to helping support the remarkable transformations to come.”
