DoubleHorn’s New Product Line with Liftr Cloud Insights

As was recently announced at LiftrCloud.com, DoubleHorn® is launching a new product line with Liftr® Cloud InsightsSM, formerly Liftr News. For DoubleHorn this is a natural path of growth and progress towards becoming the best possible advocate for our cloud customers, and we are excited to share more and more data-driven cloud insights with our customers and audience in the near future. Our dedication to arming customers with valuable cloud knowledge drives our launch of Liftr Cloud Insights, allowing both brands to flourish under the new delineation.

Liftr Cloud Insights is a new product line for DoubleHorn, sharing our passion for data-driven decision making as a core value. By collecting, processing, and analyzing public data, Liftr Cloud Insights measures the current status of public cloud service providers (CSPs) and hypothesizes about the future of each CSP tracked, without being influenced by the CSP itself. This ensures that Liftr Cloud Insights never becomes biased.

Liftr Cloud’s goal is to provide its audience with the unbiased cloud data, news, and insights they need to operate in the cloud industry. The Liftr Cloud IndexTM, which gives an impression of provider status and industry health at a glance, is one way we can begin to accomplish that goal. The Cloud Index captures major metrics in the cloud arena in various attributes, measuring everything from services provided to public opinion and perception. Each of these areas has been carefully curated and calculated to reflect the state of each provider in each attribute. It then distills those attributes down into one comprehensive metric for each provider. These individual metrics can be used to compare directly between providers. In addition, the Cloud Index also creates an aggregate metric for the industry as a whole, to help illustrate large-scale changes in the cloud landscape. As a tool, the Cloud Index can be used as a purchasing aid, to research each major cloud provider, or to give insight into the future of cloud computing.

However, this new line of business isn’t simply an index of cloud data- it also provides data-driven insights on cloud each week. Weekly videos have been a staple of Liftr News since its inception, and that will continue with Liftr Cloud Insights. We’ve been undergoing some transformations, both visually and contextually, that we hope will help to ensure Liftr Cloud Look AheadTM viewers around the world receive the latest in cloud news, data, and insights in the most effective way possible. We have also taken some time to update and renew our visual appeal, in order to match the new direction of Liftr Cloud Insights. Stay tuned for more!

In addition to video, readers can subscribe to the weekly Liftr Cloud Insights email for more in-depth coverage and analysis on the latest topics in cloud by industry analysts, Paul Teich, and Gina Longoria. A completely free version of the email contains a summary of that week’s metric scores, 13 data points in total, plus weekly news highlights. The Premium version of the email contains a summary of the full index, with a total of 45 data points as well as additional comparisons and insights week over week.

Finally, the Liftr Cloud Regions Map™ is a tool developed to give a visual indication of what kind of global presence each provider has, including Region and Zone availability. Due to concerns about latency, security, legal compliance, and ease of access, the location of regions and zone can have a big impact when migrating to the cloud or when deploying new cloud assets. This map is vital for global or regional businesses deciding which public cloud to pursue, or if a multi-cloud strategy might serve them better.
